Derbent is a very old city in the southernmost part of Russia, situated at the foot of the Caucasus near the Caspian Sea. The city is renowned for its wine and vineyards and its ancient fortress.
Our client was a wine-making company from Derbent, and our task was to create a package design for their sparkling wines. We employed the metaphor of the ancient stone from which the city of Derbent and its fortress were built, incorporating its unique patterns and shapes into the wine labels.
